Hi.

My name is Alex, I'm 17 and live right here in Chicago. I love the Buckinghams, your song "Don't You Care" actually got me into 60's music back when I was like 10, so in a way you guys were and inspiration for me, and I'm glad you did, cuz I've seen, especailly here in Chicago alot of that rap music is really messin up society, and I'm glad I listen to groups like you, instead of the rap music of today. Ya I dress like groups like you did, with the suits and stuff, and only listen to groups like you guys. I don't really care what people in my High School say to me, I just dress like that, and listen to 60's music, because it is who I am.

I recently saw you and Nick on "How Chicago Rocked the 60's" on PBS, that was such an interesting show to me, really made me realize the talent in Chicgo music in the 60's, it really got me into a lot of new groups. Anyways ya, just wanted to say thanks, for you and your group, being such an inspiration to me. You guys are the best.

Your fan,
Alex K.
Saw you at Epcot Flower Power Show 2003. Saw every act during the 6 weeks of the show. You guys were by far the best group there. You sound just like you did in the 60`s. Keep up the great shows!

Just wanted to tell you you are still one of my very favorites, right up there with the Beatles and Moody Blues. Hearing your music brings me back to a much simpler, beautiful time in my life. The 60's were not all bad!! They were the best for music, that's for sure!!

Hi Carl:

I just wanted to e-mail you to tell you, again, how much it meant to me for you to wish me a happy birthday and to sing “Susan” just for me. I know that there were loads of women in the stands at Epcot that were very envious of me at that moment. I was very honored.

I want to tell you a little bit about why it was so very special to me. De & I aren’t married now. We were married for a little over 20 years but I got lost and “bitchy”. Although he put up with it for several years, he grew distant and we divorced in Sept of 2003.

To make a very long story short, we kept in contact. He went, by himself, to a concert last spring in Chicago at The Rosemont. It was the Solid Gold Sixties concert at which you and your guys performed. You sang the song “Susan” and, with that song and some other things, he began to realize that he still loved me very much. He told me later that the line “No other girl could ever take the place of you” really hit home.

We began to date again. He then took me to see you at Epcot a little bit after that Rosemont show and you sang (“Hey Baby They’re Playin…”) to me at that show. Anyway, since about August of last year, we have been pretty much inseparable with a renewed knowledge of each other and of our love. And you started it all by singing that song at the Rosemont!

So, you can see why you, the guys, and the song have a new, special meaning for me. Thank you again from the bottom of my very appreciative heart.

Always,
Sue M.
A friend of mine, Mary Mitchell, wrote to you about how she and her husband went to your concert at the Mohegan Sun. My wife and I were supposed to go but I was in the hospital receiving chemo treatments so I gave Mary the tickets. I want to thank you for the CD you sent me and the encouraging words you wrote inside the jacket. It was really nice of you to take the time and I really appreciated it.

Sincerely,
Dave D.
Carl-
I just wanted to thank you (and your wife) for being so gracious on the4 oldies cruise. My wife and I had a great time despite the absence of the Turtles! I've always been a fan of the "Bucks" but Lisa is way to young to remember your hits the first time around. I thought she might hate me for dragging her on the cruise. You guys perform well under less than ideal situations (small crowds, swimming pools, and sound system failures.

Hello Carl,

Just got off the ship Sunday. STILL feel as though I'm ROCKIN... Wonderful cruise. I didn't get a chance to talk to you about how great your show was. I was just now listening to the CD I purchased and I'm stuck on 99.9. BEAUTIFUL... Actually I had a tough time getting past NO TURNING BACK. I'm going to take and play it thru-out the day today and hope you don't mind if I have more comments. I also hope that some of my pictures turn out. Because the one the ship took of the group with me didn't turn out to well.

THANKS so much for the LOVELY music and I hope you make it over to SEATTLE sometime.

Dear Carl & all the Buckinghams,

I've just returned from your performance in Crete, IL at the USA fest and I wanted to thank you from the bottom of my heart for allowing me to believe in "time travel". After a difficult & emotionally trying few months (hey, I know, who hasn't had these moments), you transported me to my high school years. A trip I can only tell you how much I needed. Your songs were as healing then as much as they made me smile & sing along tonite. I am truly grateful!

I was only able to see The Buckinghams via T.V. and never in person, so this was truly a treat for me. Your show was phenomonal!!!!!! I do believe, like fine wine, your performances aged well. Thank you again.....God bless you!

As long as you keep on entertaining, I will hope to be there.

Carl,

Great show at Balmoral. Your vocals, combined with a "killer band" makes for a very impressive show. I had plenty of family members there who haven't heard you in 10+ years, that said you were awesome.

Hey there Carl,

I too enjoyed the show and went away with great satisfacton!! You always put on a good show and I have known you since back in the days of The Embassy and The Holiday!

You have gotten better as the years have gone by. We all get older, but you and the Nick have aged well. Your music just gets better and better all the time!! I look forward to your next show in my area! Oh by the way my friend took many pictures of you and the band. We are willing to share them with you. Where would be the best way to send them to you? We'd also like to know if you and the guys would autograph at least one of them for us? We know you couldn't sign all 100 of them, LOL!! But maybe just our favorite and best!! We do appreciate your time and kindness after the show, when you come by and talk with us fans! You really do put on a GREAT show!!

Forever a Buckingham Groupie

I attended your concert with a good friend of mine at Balmoral Park. She has followed you at your site for awhile. But this was my first concert and I was totally blown away. I enjoyed myself tremendously!! You have gotten yourself another FAN!!

Wow! Took in your concert at the Taste of Minnesota on July the 5th and I was dazzled!!! Took my 10 year old along and she sang right along with you guys.

I remember growing up in small town Minnesota and going to bed with my AM transister radio tuned to WLS in Chicago and listening to all your hits.

Thanks for the great sound - brings back excellent memories! Keep up the good work, fella's!
